Back in September 2012, we wrote an article that dished out valuable tips for marketing yourself online. The focus was primarily targeted towards models and musicians trying to make it for themselves online.
Today, we’ll focus on showing you some working examples of South African models / actresses who have successfully pushed their online presence, especially via well-known social media tools.
These people have excellent aggressive social media tactics that are working well as their counts continue to increase daily.
Bonang Matheba

Bonang is one of the most followed woman in South Africa on Twitter as well as having one of the highest Facebook page likes for a female public figure. The gorgeous entrepreneur created her Facebook page on October 29th, 2008 and to date has over 337,000 likes. The page is regularly updated a few times a day with new content and Bonang tweets at least a couple of times a day.

Nonhle Thema’s Facebook page was created on August 13th, 2008 and while her Facebook social media isn’t pushed as aggressively as Bonang’s she tweets a lot more. Her social media focus lies more towards the Twitter side, but that hasn’t stopped her from racking up almost 150,000 Twitter followers.

Jade Fairbrother won the Playboy Playmate of the Year competition in 2012 and has since been gaining a strong social media following. The beautiful Jade pushes her social media on both fronts updated both Facebook and Twitter a few times a day with fresh new content. This has helped her amass a big following although she strangely doesn’t have an official website. Something which we’re certain could only boost her popularity. Jade is the most followed and Liked Playboy Playmate in South Africa and created her page on August 8th, 2011.

Gorgeous Cape Town Playboy model Yolandi Malherbe also pushes her social media on both Facebook and Twitter fronts. She created her Facebook page on August 8th, 2011 and has so far managed to get 14,669 likes. While she also mysteriously doesn’t have an official website, she more than makes up for it on the social media front. Her excellent social media marketing has earned her 17,327 Twitter followers.
Tanit Phoenix

Unlike the ladies listed above, well known model and actress Tanit Phoenix doesn’t push her social media as aggressively as she should, however that hasn’t stopped her from gaining 5,738 Twitter followers and 15,811 Facebook page likes. Her Facebook page was started back in September 2008 and has since gained a slow gaining.

Well known Top Billing presenter Jeannie D doesn’t push her Facebook page nearly as much as her Twitter page, which has gone on to gain her a following of 57,184 followers. Her Facebook page was only created in January 2010 and has since gained her 10,531 page likes. It’s clear to see which social media platform Jeannie D prefers, however, you can’t neglect one for the other as her last Facebook post was back in late December 2012.

Nadine Lee is relatively new to the social media scene in terms of pushing her brand. The model’s Facebook page was only created back in May 2012 and yet through her excellent social media skills has managed to gain a fan count of over 10,700 Likes. Same goes for her Twitter count (currently sitting at 4,514 Followers) and given the time frame, Nadine Lee shows how possible it is to gain a large following quickly through successful and aggressive social media marketing. We had the absolute pleasure of working with the beautiful Nadine Lee in late 2012.
